It's hard to believe that twenty years ago, our little corner of Renton was just an empty lot. Back in 2004, with a dream of bringing fresh, local produce to our community, we built Top of the Hill Quality Produce from the ground up. We weren't just building a store, we were building relationships! Come take a brief look at where we've been and where we are at now! 

From the Ground Up: Supporting Local, Sustainability at Our Core
Sustainability has always been a core value at Top of the Hill. Damu and Jackie Maples, the owners, make it a point to visit local farms several times a week. This isn't just about getting the freshest possible fruits, vegetables, and flowers for our shelves, which we highly cherish. But it's also about supporting the hard-working farmers who are the backbone of our local food system. The same goes for our meat department – all our meat is sourced locally from Oregon. In the summer months, about 75% of our in-store items are stocked with locally sourced products. During the Christmas tree season, Damu hand-picks the trees from the farm to sell at the store.  

We've blogged about our fresh, house-made deli items such as our popular lasagna and chicken salad, as well as our house-made pepperoni sticks and jerky snacks. We pride ourselves on the fresh variety we offer and specialty items you can't find anywhere else. We've also fulfilled special customer requests, so if you don't find what you're looking for, just ask us! Give us a call at 425-226-4316 and we'll do our best to help out. 

Growing Together: Building Relationships That Last
Over the years, one of the most rewarding aspects of running Top of the Hill has been getting to know our customers. We've seen kids grow up shopping here, and some have even worked for us! Our friendly and welcoming atmosphere has fostered lasting relationships with our customers’ entire families, including their dogs!

And let’s not forget our suppliers: we wouldn't be here without the incredible network of local farms and businesses we've built connections with throughout the 20 years we've existed in our current location in the Renton Highlands.
